QGate connects living spaces i.e. electrical devices to the internet and enables to communicate with them via smartphone.
QGate started out as an innovative experiment: things of our everyday life should be connected to the internet and thus promote the vision of the Internet of Things for everyone without being an expert.
To cover various fields of applications QGate was equipped with a powermeter, a light and a temperature sensor, a microphone, a switch, a radio interface. Additionally an embedded SIM was integrated so that QGate does not require WiFi installations and can be used worldwide at any place where a GSM/GPRS coverage can be found.
The comprehensive technology behind QGate was combined with modern design. At first sight it is just an elegant, black adapter plug – no bigger than a business card. Hidden inside though is state-of-the-art technology which helps users to monitor and regulate their living spaces respectively their electrical devices remotely via smartphone - wherever they are.
The different features and sensors of QGate allow the QGate App to offer various applications (so called QApps) for energy transparency, TV-time management, temperature monitoring and many more. The user is free to change the application i.e. the function of QGate at any time.
The open development platform QStudio also adds to QGate’s innovative character. We wanted to create a product that is very simple to use but still fascinating for tech-savvy users. With the creation of QStudio we gave users the opportunity to develop their own applications.
