Compact, robust, and designed for versatility, the RockBLOCK 9603 is a powerful satellite communication device perfect for systems integrators and product developers. It enables reliable two-way messaging from virtually anywhere on Earth with a clear view of the sky.
The RockBLOCK 9603 offers the same capabilities as the RockBLOCK 9602 but in a smaller, lighter form. Ideal for space-conscious applications, it integrates seamlessly with platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Windows, Mac, Linux, and other systems equipped with serial or USB ports.
The device features a Molex connector, enabling connections for serial communication, power, and signaling lines. While this compact connector is highly efficient, it may present a slight learning curve for hobbyists compared to the RockBLOCK 9602’s header pin configuration.
At its core is the Iridium 9603N modem, which delivers global connectivity. The RockBLOCK 9603 includes an integrated patch antenna and power management system, exposing the modem’s serial interface for easy integration into your projects.
The patch antenna is ideal for applications where the device has a clear view of the sky, such as being positioned under plastic or near the top of an enclosure. For setups requiring deeper placement or navigating metal obstructions, an optional SMA connector allows the attachment of an external antenna.
The RockBLOCK 9603 is incredibly versatile and has been deployed in various innovative systems. These include monitoring honey bee populations, transmitting data from remote weather stations, and enabling control systems for unmanned vehicles.
Please note: RockBLOCK is not a tracking device. For tracking-specific applications, we recommend exploring the RockFLEET series.
