Samsung SDI has been in the center of Korea's display business for the pas forth years. SDI started and expanded the business from vacumn/picture cathode ray tubes to today's leading LCD, PDP, and AMOLED TV's. Moreover, Samsung SDI pioneered the development and research for the display business market when Korea was falling behind in resources, infrastructure, and technlogy innovation in the electronics industry.

Since 2000, Samsung SDI started to develop lithium ion batter(LIB) technology as a venture division and through hard work and determination, attained the global #1 position in a very short period of time. LIB business became a successor to SDI's already striving Display business. Through these sectors, Samsung SDI's flagship business has grown into the strong and solid business it is today. Overime, SDI's core business model and infrastructure shipfted from display industry to renewable energy and SDI continues to be acknowledged worldwide as a pioneer to Korea's new energy commerce.
