MODEBO emerged in 2010 with the mission of encouraging integral and innovating strategies and solutions for energy efficiency in the 21st century.
THE CHALLENGE
Buildings are responsible for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of EU CO2 emissions. Energy performance of buildings is fundamental to achieve the EU Climate & Energy objectives, namely the reduction of a 20% of the Greenhouse gases emissions by 2020 and a 20% energy savings by 2020. Improving the energy performance of buildings is a cost-effective way of fighting against climate change and improving energy security, while also creating job opportunities, particularly in the building sector.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
MODEBO understood this opportunity and developed the System of Energy Efficiency in Edification, an Integral Plan, which through Passive Architecture techniques and Technological tools, such as our patent: “System for acquisition, protection, and register, communication & data control” achieves high efficiency rates by improving the use and consumption of energy and resources.
The integrated solution that Modebo offers includes both an architectural and technological approach. By offering a remote monitoring and automated control system, together with bioclimatic design, Modebo’s project covers several key elements in energy efficiency, for buildings, stores, manufacturing plants, hotels and others. These key elements include energy wastes in heating, air conditioning and lighting, for electricity. By applying both bioclimatic design and measurement and verification technology developed by the company, the building has a better opportunity to obtain sustainability operations and therefore certifications.
SUSTAINABILITY AND RESULTS
For a project of 1,000 m2, with an investment of USD$ 120,000, Modebo can obtain savings of nearly 90% of the AC and heating systems usage and more than 40% of the lighting usage. This represents savings of more than USD$ 25,000 a year, only in energy consumption. Besides energy consumption savings, the commercial value for the building will increase in at least 30%, and water consumption can be reduced in almost 80%.
